5 tips to integrate Mindfulness into your day to day

Mindfulness techniques they start to be really interesting when we manage to integrate them into our day-to-day lives. Any action as everyday as sitting in a chair, going shopping, having tea, eating, working on the computer or chatting, all these are opportunities to apply Mindfulness.

Before starting I leave you a video entitled "Mindfulness: The art of living consciously."

In this video they explain what Mindfulness consists of:

This means that more than living the day in "automatic pilot" mode, not being really aware of the decisions we make, it is about feeling a calm and clarity in our mind that allows us to really live all these actions. Studies show that between 30% and 50% of the time, most people find themselves absent, trapped in their mind, what would be commonly referred to as "babia." They also showed that these distracted minds are a direct cause of sadness and confusion.

Here we list and briefly describe five daily actions that we tend to do without paying much attention, almost automatically. You have to try to bring our attention to the physical sensations and whatever it is that you are doing.

1. Apply Mindfulness while brushing

The normal thing is to brush our teeth in the same way that we walk around the house avoiding the cat, looking for the keys or mentally preparing ourselves for a work meeting. This is the old way of doing this activity. From this moment, we will feel our feet on the ground, the temperature and the texture we feel on it, we will pay attention to the appearance, smell and texture of the toothpaste.

2. Mindfulness in the shower

Normally we pay attention to sensations at this moment only when we regulate the temperature of the water. We must therefore pay attention and be Mindfulness in the wave of pleasure that hot water makes us feel, the smell of bath gel, the sound of water or the amount of it we are using.

3. Mindfulness working with the computer

Be aware of your environment and the tendency to resist it: be aware of emotions, how they rise and fall, come and go; Attentive to the different sensations, but more than thinking about them, judge, analyze, or simply be aware of them.

4. Apply Mindfulness while doing the dishes

Pay attention to the moment when your hands come into contact with the water; of the transfer of heat from the water to your body, hold a single plate in your hands and wash it vigorously for a few seconds. Feel the satisfaction when you are done.

5. Mindfulness while waiting your turn at the bank

Become aware of the reaction you have when you see the long tail, pay attention to your posture and how you position yourself to wait for your turn, also pay attention to your breathing and focus on the physical sensations of your body. More information
