16 tips you would have wanted before you turned 18

These are the tips that I would have liked someone to give me before 18. I would like to know which one would have served you and if you can contribute any more.

1-Get used to making many mistakes: mistakes teach important lessons. Actually the biggest mistake is doing nothing because you are too afraid to act. You can never be 100% sure that it will work, but you can be 100% sure that doing nothing will not work. Embrace this belief: either you succeed or you learn something.

2-Dedicate yourself to something you like to do: Although now I dedicate myself to what I like, it could have started earlier. If you follow your own interests and values, you will find success through that passion. This way you won't wake up tired and listless from having to go to a job that you don't like. So when you are older you will look back and feel that you have lived the life you wanted.

 3-Invest time, money and energy in yourself every day: the more you invest in yourself, the more control you will have over your life and step by step you will guide yourself towards the life you want. 

4-Always do new things and look for new opportunities: life is a collection of small experiences and the more you have, the more interesting it becomes. Find new experiences, new things to do and share them with your people.

5-I will specializeBetter to train in two or three specific areas than to try to cover too many. Experts in a specific area are highly valued in society. Hard work is important although focused in the same direction. 

6-accept the change: Situations always change, be it for the better or for the worse. The changes happen for some reason and we can only accept them.

7-Do not worry about what others think of you: worrying about what they think of yourself is common even if it doesn't make sense. It would only work if you want to make a good impression, such as in a job interview. The most important thing is how you feel about yourself, there are always going to be people who like you and who don't like you.

8-Improve communication: People don't know what you think if you don't tell them. If you don't tell your boss that you want a raise or a job upgrade, they probably won't. If you like a boy or girl and you don't say anything to him, your chance will probably pass. If you don't tell people what is bothering you (politely) they will probably continue to bother you. It is as simple as saying what you think correctly.

9-Make quick decisions and act- If you don't make quick decisions and act, someone else will do it first. If you sit and think too much you are not going to progress. Knowing how to do something or thinking about doing something is different than doing it. Knowledge is useless without action.

10-Make contacts: with colleagues, teachers, bosses ... In addition to the fact that social support is one of the best stress absorbers, it will help you to make professional contacts. 

11-Live honestly with yourself and with othersLiving a life of honesty will give you peace of mind.

12-Do not be dependent on others: if you become dependent on someone, when they are gone your world will fall apart. It is necessary to know how to live and enjoy yourself. Loving people but not needing them.

13-Reflect for 15 minutes a day: without doing anything, just thinking, reflecting, coming up with new projects and trying to improve what we have done in the day. With constant activity and speed we cannot think clearly.

14-Do not seek approvalSeeking approval is being the person others want you to be. This is not how you live your life and you will surely be constantly uncomfortable. There will always be people who agree with what you do and others who do not. 

15-Avoid getting angry with others: When you feel that you are going to get mad at someone, think about why you are doing it and try to postpone it for 5 minutes. Try to understand the person and be aware that not everyone can adapt to what you expect of them.

16-Live in the present: do not think too much about tomorrow or in the past because what is enjoyed is now.
