6 disadvantages of perfectionism

Is perfectionism good or does it have its downsides? I have it clear. There are 2 types of perfectionism: neurotic and healthy. Today I am going to briefly mention 6 disadvantages of neurotic perfectionism:

1) Decreased productivity.

They tend to misuse the Pareto Principle, that is, dedicate 20% of our effort to generate 80% of our results. They do it the other way around: they dedicate 80% of their effort to generate 20% of their results.

2) Procrastination.

It is expected to find the best solution, the context and the perfect moment to do something for which its execution is always delayed.

3) Myopia.

As they get caught up in the little details, the bigger picture and an outline of things is lost.

4) Growth stagnation.

Perfectionists get caught up in a regimen of doing things a certain way. This robs them of many opportunities to grow.

5) Worse state of health and mental well-being.

They constantly submit to a tunnel of negative emotions and sacrifice their sleep in pursuit of work.

6) Deterioration of social relations.

Their inflexibility makes it difficult for them to connect properly with other people.
