A trip that I do not wish on anyone

This is the story in photos of one of the most bitter journeys in life. A photographer's wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. From that moment, her husband wanted to reflect through his photos the "journey" due to this disease.

The photographer says that with each challenge more joined. The words lost their importance. One night Jen had just been admitted, her pain was out of control. She grabbed his arm and with teary eyes said: "You have to look me in the eye, that's the only way I can handle this pain."

This is his story.

«My photographs show everyday life. They humanize the face of cancer, on my wife's face. They show the challenge, hardship, fear, sadness and loneliness that we face, that Jennifer faced while struggling with this disease. "

"The fear, anxiety and worries were constant."

“People assume that treatment makes you better, that things are done well, that life returns to 'normal'. However, there is no normality. Cancer survivors have to define a new sense of normalcy. "

"Jen had chronic pain during almost 4 years of treatment."

"Day hospital stays were frequent."

"Throughout our battle we were fortunate to have a strong support group, but we still had a hard time getting people to understand our day-to-day life and the difficulties we face."

"Sadly, most people don't want to hear these realities and at times we felt our support was fading."

"At 39, Jen started using a walker and was exhausted."

«Jen taught me to love, to listen, to give, to believe in others and in myself. I have never been as happy as I was during this time. "
