Talk to your daughter before the beauty industry does

This ad is over six years old but I hadn't seen it until today. It's a Dove ad. This company has starred in several campaigns Against the image projected by other companies of the same trade in which supermodels and perfect faces appear promoting their cosmetic products.

It is clear that it is a good commercial move by Dove to win the support of the female audience whose reality is far from resembling such supermodels. Stay with the message. The ad ends with a photo of a girl walking to school with her classmates and the caption reads, "Talk to your daughter before the beauty industry does":

True is that Dove aims to provide a real alternative for women who recognize that beauty is not just reserved for models or movie stars. Even the Dove models seem to fit perfectly into this idea that the world of fashion and beauty should be opened up to "normal" women:

It's okay to want to look your best, but don't get sucked into the beauty industry. We can't all look like the supermodels in magazines. Even supermodels don't even look like the supermodels in magazines as they hide after hours of make-up and hairstyling sessions. The icing on the cake is Photoshop.

Beauty is not in increasing things in your body, but in being genuine, maintaining emotional intelligence.

I studied a master's degree in marketing in which we studied this ad that, like so many others, we as viewers love it, but it is still a pure marketing tool. The man in charge of the Dove company does not care about the future of that girl who moves us in the ad, but with it, he has won over the parents of the child and positions himself as a defender of the girls of America. They did a lot of other things in America, not only advertisements, and in part useful, but they are still marketing tools ... at least something good can be obtained (from other campaigns, nothing at all) but ... this selling at all costs It puts me in a very bad mood.

Excuse the intrusion, I do not want to create controversy! It's just that the first time I saw it, I also liked it, but then I started to see it from that point of view and it seemed very hypocritical.

    Regards!

I find it eerily cynical to do such a commercial campaign. Doesn't Dove do exactly the same? Is it that now, for making ads with thick women are they better than anyone? I have not seen that any of his women are without makeup, are not physically attractive or have decided not to wax their groin, legs and armpits….
