Advantages of having a cat
1) People who have a cat are smarter.
A study that was conducted on British pet owners found that people who owned cats tended to be more intelligent than those who owned a dog.
Both in terms of IQ and overall level of education, people who own cats lead the way. It's probably not the cat that makes them smarter but the fact that smarter people tend to work longer hours, and Since cats require less attention than dogs, they are a better option for the busy intellectual.
2) Helps you relax.
Petting a cat has a positive calming effect. One study found that cat owners had a 30 percent less likely to die from a heart attack or a stroke that non-owners of cats.
Relaxing with your cat is good for you and for him or her.
3) Having a cat helps sick people feel better:
