Build self esteem

Things you can do right away every day to raise your self-esteem:

1) Pay attention to your own needs and wants. Listen to what your body, your mind and your heart are telling you. For example, if your body is telling you that you have been sitting for a long time, stand up and stretch. If your heart is wanting to spend more time with a special friend, go for it. If your mind is telling you to study, listen to your favorite music, or stop having negative thoughts about yourself, take those thoughts seriously.

2) Learn to take care of yourself. As you have grown, you may not have learned to take good care of yourself. In fact, much of your attention may have been on caring for others or on "behaving well." Start taking good care of yourself today. Treat yourself as a wonderful parent would treat a young child or a best friend might treat another. If you work on this aspect, you will see that you feel better about yourself. These are some tips to take good care of yourself:

* Eat healthy foods and avoid junk food (foods that contain a lot of sugar, salt, or fat).

* Exercise. Moving your body helps you feel better and improve your Self esteem.

Organize a time every day or as often as possible to get some exercise, preferably outside. You can do many different things. Walking is the most common. You can run, bike, or go up and down stairs multiple times.
