Existed once a great carpenter that he was going to retire and so he told the contractor with whom he had worked all his life building big houses for him. He would not receive all the pension for retiring early but he preferred to live in peace with his wife.
The contractor regretted his decision but understood it perfectly. He was saddened by the loss of a great carpenter who had provided such magnificent homes. However, the contractor asked one last house as a personal favorIt had to be a great house that exceeded all expectations.
The carpenter agreed but soon lost motivation, his heart and mind did not want to work anymore. This is why he turned to poor quality materials and cheap labor. It was an unfortunate way to give up a lifetime of great jobs.
When the carpenter finished his work, the businessman came to inspect the house, made a detour around it and took out the key to the entrance of the house:
- Take the key to this house! From now on this house is yours, it is my farewell gift to you.
The carpenter was surprised. What a shame! If I had known that he was building his own house, I would have done everything differently.
As you can see, we always have to use the best foundation when we are building our life, it is like our house in which we are going to live. One day we realize that we do not use the best materials and if we could live again we would do it in a very different way. However, we cannot go back.
You are the carpenter. Every day you take the hammer to drive a nail into a board and thus raise a wall. Life is your own project.
