This is Choi Sung-Bong.
It's a opera vocalist who became famous after his appearance on the Korean version of Britain's Got Talent show ("You have talent"). His participation in the program was picked up by the media in many countries.
What is striking about him is found in his personal history and in how he has managed to overcome adversity and develop the talent he has in the voice until he reached his stellar intervention in the program.
He was abandoned in an orphanage when he was 3 years old. Choi ran away from the orphanage when he was 5 years old due to the beatings he received from the adults who lived with him. He lived on the streets of Korea for 10 years selling gum and drink.
Despite not attending elementary or high school, Choi took the Korean equivalent of a North American GED test, an educational recognition of his knowledge acquired in everyday situations.
Choi wanted to have a musical career at a young age, when he heard a singer from a nightclub. He began to educate his voice.
He graduated from a South Korean art school but was unable to pursue professional training due to his financial situation.
The 6 of June of 2011, stood in front of the television cameras and managed to thrill the audience with his story and his musical performance.
