Day Eleven: Discover your values

Welcome to task 11 for this month of January (at the end of the article you have the other 10 tasks).

Yesterday We did a rather surreal introspection exercise that helped us focus on the things we really want. Many times we deviate from the path and this type of exercise usually comes in handy to focus.

On this January 11 we will discover our values. Are you ready? 🙂
We are going to identify what you represent as a person.

The identification of your values.

identify your values

Do you know what your values are?

Values are the qualities that we consider most important to us. E.g., integrity, responsibility and honesty are values for most people. Diligence is a dominant value in Asian culture. Compassion was a predominant value for Mother Teresa. Success and excellence are values of achievers like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs.

If your values are the honesty, integrity and love It means that you must strive to be a totally honest person with others, full of integrity (do not lie, insult others, etc.) and love (compassion that is shown in everything you do; spreading abundance and joy). If your values are the responsibility, generosity and altruism it means that you will strive to be totally responsible, generous with your emotions and actions and to put others before yourself.

Everybody has a set of values that unconsciously guide us in life everyday: sometimes we know them, sometimes we don't. The easiest way to think about your values is to think about your Ideal me.

Because your values represent what is important to you, they are also the things you are going to fight for, at the cost of everything else. Imagine a soldier willing to die for his country in war. That is the value of patriotism. An employee who often works overtime to get a better job done. Those are the values of diligence and commitment.

My values in life are (1) excellence (2) passion (3) fatherhood (4) authenticity

1) Excellence

value of excellence

Excellence is truly the core of who I am and what I do. Therefore, the blog is called Personal growth. All of us have, for example, an immense unlimited potential, it would be a mistake not to try to become the best of ourselves.

2) Passion.

passion value

Passion represents focusing on the things I love. Live, grow, help others to grow, be with my children, be alive. I think life is about doing things that you like, not things that force you, meaningless or empty.

3) Paternity.

Currently, the most important thing I have in life are my children. Parenthood has hit me hard and my children have stolen my heart. For me it is a duty to try to be the best father, another thing is that I achieve it 😉

4) Authenticity.

authenticity value

I like genuine, original people, who are out of the ordinary, who are not subject to the conventionalisms of society.

These are the 4 fundamental values that I see in my life and they are part of my day to day.

How to identify your values?

how to discover your values

1) Imagine your «ideal self»: How is it? Shells his personality. This will help you identify the values you want for your life.

2) Moments of annoyance: What events in the past have really bothered you? Why did they bother you?

This will allow you to identify what you do not want in your life, they are the antivalues.

3) Moments of happiness: Was there a moment in the last period when you were very happy / excited / proud of yourself? Why? What was it about the situation that made you feel this way? These situations are what connect with your values.

Well, I have a fairly extensive and visual post (for the photos) that I hope will help you.
