8 easy ways to break free from your past and be successful in life

Do you sometimes find yourself stuck in the past? Do you find that you regularly have regrets about some of the decisions you have made? Don't be too hard on yourself, it's happened to all of us.

We all have a past, and that past could be the reason why many people do not achieve a fulfilling and rewarding life. We all go through those stages in our lives where we spend a lot of time thinking about our past and we are not able to see the new opportunities that are presenting themselves on a daily basis.

There may have been many missed opportunities or mistakes made. We have to let them go and pursue those opportunities that are constantly presenting themselves. The future is the place where you can repair all the damage you have done in your life.

Here are the eight steps to letting go of the past and looking forward with great anticipation:

1. Call bugs by name.

Identify all your mistakes, shame, disappointments, and failures. Write them down in a notebook and call all of them by name. Later tear the paper or burn it. You will see how this gesture frees you from those ties. Refuse to remain a prisoner of your past.

"Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new." - Albert Einstein

two . Respect your past mistakes.

His mistakes were part of his experience at a certain point in life. Now you have the time to get it right. It is a part of the learning process. Now he is a different person. Those mistakes have made him what he is today. Celebrate the fact that you have learned your lesson well.

3 . Don't devalue your achievements.

When you spend your time regretting the past, you are ignoring all that you have accomplished. Focus on your achievements and not your mistakes and, in turn, you will realize that your mistakes were not so serious. If you focus on them, you make them bigger than they really are.

Four . Don't let your mistakes be your story.

If you are constantly reminiscing about the mistakes you made, it will make those mistakes make up the story of your life. You sure don't want some of the best moments of your life to be overshadowed by your mistakes, which were only a very small part of his life. If you were asked to write your life story, would the mistakes make up the majority of the story? I think not, so it's time to let go of the past and move on.

5 . Don't ruin your present life with the past.

Don't erase your present life by staying in the past. You can't spend your time worrying about things that you should have done differently. As you dwell in your past, you are dishonoring your current life. You will not be able to be happy where you are now. Don't hijack your happiness.

6. Don't miss out on the lessons from your mistakes.

Don't miss out on the lessons to be learned from those things that are not important in your life now. Unfortunately, life tests us first and then teaches us the lessons. Your mistakes are only part of the learning process.

"A man's mistakes are his portals of discovery". - James Joyce

7. Forgive so that you can move forward.

Too many times we hold ourselves hostage for not forgiving others. To move forward, you have to put aside the hurt and pain that you have been holding back. Forgiveness allows you to move freely forward. Forgiveness does more for you than for anyone else.

8. Use your past mistakes to help others.

We all have things in our past that make us feel ashamed. You are no different, but don't let it stop you from building a new future. Use your past experiences to help others who are in similar situations. Let them know that it is never too late to become the person they want to become.

We all have things in our lives that we are not proud of and we would like to erase from our memories, but we have to remember that those are the things that make us who we are today. Don't be ashamed of your past because those mistakes are part of your life and they have made you stronger, wiser, and better able to deal with life.

Every day is an opportunity to start over and learn something new. What are your plans for the future? Leave your thoughts in the comment section.

My problem is that my life had 80% errors, some I will never be able to forgive myself because there is no way to compensate or undo them. I am very grateful to them but I think I have no remedy.

I don't know what my mistakes have been, I don't think I have made them. I believe that I am the result of the mistakes of others, my parents, my family. Now that I have broken up with everyone, I feel strong and the owner of my future but emotionally devastated. I look for affection among my friends, I feel like begging.

The truth is I very much agree with that very special phrase that the mistakes of the past I can erase with my future. I try. I did not say goodbye to some of my loved ones. Now I take care of the elderly. And I did not know how to take good care of or adequately value what two pets were. Now I put my attention and my heart on two other little ones from home and another one adopted from the garden. And I hope to continue like this. Thanks
