Neither hembrism, nor feminism, nor machismo ... above all we are people. People who want to receive equal treatment, a treatment that does not denigrate us as people, respect in equal parts by all of society. Unfortunately, for many, It is too difficult to understand that we are people with rights and duties and that in order to be a good society, what you have to do is… respect each other.
There are many sexist attitudes in our society that divide people. In reality there are many terms that only cause confusion in people who do not have specific training in these areas and that can even aggravate the problem of social division.
Hembrism and feminism
Hembrimo and feminism are not the same but they are confused. There are pronas who believe that two terms are the same or that they mean the same thing, but nothing could be further from the truth. The meaning of feminism has a lot of weight and history and feminism, besides being different, it is a term that is used more recently.
Feminism
When we talk about feminism we are talking about the social movements that exist with the aim of making women visible and empowering. They seek equality of genders and opportunities instead of women being below men. Feminism is therefore a social phenomenon with a long history that has been transformed over the years.
An attempt is made to change the legislation, customs or habits of a society that still continues largely with macho thoughts, due to centuries of male dominance over women. The cause of this domain can never be understood, since both men and women are two beings who should have the same rights and obligations in this society. Equality and mutual respect are sought.
Feminism
When we talk about femininity, we mean something totally different. It refers to an attitude of contempt and indiscriminate attacks towards men just because they are. It would be like machismo towards women, but towards men in this case.
A direct behavior of contempt towards the man is observed, either with behaviors, conversations or insults. Feminism has a lot to do with sexism.
Feminism has nothing to do with feminism
As you can see, feminism and feminism have nothing to do with one thing or the other. Feminism is a social phenomenon of struggle based on respect for men and women, and feminism is an attitude of contempt for men just for being so. Yes indeed, both are products of inequality between men and women where women have always been harmed throughout history, creating then this struggle on the one hand and these feelings of resentment and hatred on the other hand.
Feminism is a collective that is governed by social movements. It cannot be defined as something individual. It is a change that you want to achieve in the system. On the other hand, as for feminism, it is an individual attitude, of someone in particular who has these particular feelings. A person who is a feminist does not have to be a feminist. A feminist person does tend to also support feminism, although they may have more extreme thoughts or that not all feminists share (especially if they do not advocate equality and respect).
Feminism seeks the welfare of all, equal power for both men and women. Machismo, on the other hand, wants man to have power just because he is. On the other hand, feminism and the hatred it generates towards men does want a social bias, they want women to have power and for men to stop having it. They feel rejection towards the man.
Many feminist people feel that 'female' people can harm their social movement. Hembrism exists although many people do not want to see it, It is not comparable to machismo but it helps to understand it better.
Machismo is an unfounded thought by men, where they themselves think that they are superior beings to women. They think that man is the man, who commands, who dominates. Machismo is an ideology that encompasses the set of attitudes, behaviors, social practices and beliefs where women must be subjected and discriminated against at the will of men. Normally with behaviors of humiliation or devaluation towards the woman.
What female and male chauvinists forget
Extreme thoughts always cloud people's judgment, because they block communication or understanding. There are things that female and male chauvinists forget and that is, yes, it is true that men and women are different in many ways, but this does NOT mean that one should be inferior to the other or vice versa. The differences between men and women is what really gives us social and human wealth, which makes us a unique species.
They forget that our society should not be based on a power struggle, that there should be no sides. You are not a woman or you are a man, you are not on the side of men or on the side of women… we are just people. We must live and coexist as people. The system is poorly organized due to lack of information or ignorance of the past. Currently, we have enough information and criteria to be able to change things, to realize that men and women are not opposing teams, we are complementary and we need each other.
A society that disadvantages women is going badly. A society that disadvantages man will not do well either. It's about taking roles freely. Oppressors are not needed and there should be no victims. Nobody has power over anybody. Power corrupts the human being.
It is important and necessary for the social good to realize that extremes are never good. Society has only one term that must be recognized and valued: people. We must fight for the human good, for the social good. What can be sad is that there is still a long way to go just because of the difficulty that it presents for many, opening the mind.
