El act of transmitting information It depends on many factors, because it has a complex structure that must be strictly followed in order to communicate with good results.

The most common forms of communication are verbal and non-verbal, the only difference being the possibility of using languages such as Spanish, English, among others, and non-verbal are usually signs, symbols among others.

To understand a little better what the most common forms of communication in human beings are and how they work, it is necessary to understand what communication is, what its structure is like, and what are the factors that must exist for it to take place.

Communication

Communication is a conscious process that aims to share or transmit information of any kind, in which there must be the participation of two or more people who must follow some regulations that will give it full meaning and structure so that it can fulfill its objective. .

In short, communication is the union between several people who want to share lived moments, experiences, feelings, stories, among others.

Elements

For a communicative process to be carried out correctly it is necessary that it contain all the elements of the same, because these are the ones that provide its structure, because among them are the participants, the information and the channels of communication. herself.

  • Transmitter: These, as their name says, are the ones who emit the message, better known as the speakers, because they are the ones who provide the information.
  • Receiver: They are the ones who perceive the message, in other words they disappoint it, in other words they are the listeners of a conversation.
  • Message: It is known as the information to be sent, which comes from the sender (s), and is previously received by the receiver, who, after understanding and analyzing it, usually changes his or her role, becoming the sender.
  • Channel: this is the means with which the message is sent, usually the channel is used to know some types of information. The channels today are very diverse thanks to the advances that communication has had due to technology.
  • Code: They are the set of signs and regulations that are used to carry out the communication process, which is also very relevant to know some forms of communication.

Forms of communication

Communication has two known forms that are verbal and non-verbal, which are used daily by human beings, in all everyday situations.

Verbal communication

Verbal communication is given that name, because there is the presence of the verb In it, which can be used in two different ways, oral and written, being basically the same, only that in one sounds are emitted (speech) while in the other the words are expressed in writing.

Oral

This form of communication is the most common among all those used by human beings, since with the simple fact of emitting a sound such as a whistle, scream, laughs, cries, among others.

Language is the most complex form of oral communication, Because in this it is used articulations of sounds, which structure the words, that according to the origin of the same changes.

Today it can be seen how this form of communication has evolved in an incredible way, because thanks to information transmission technologies, oral communication has even been carried out intercontinentally.

Writing

This form of communication is basically the same as oral, with the only difference that the words or signals that are being transmitted are used through writing, such as hieroglyphs, acronyms, alphabets, logos, among others.

At present it has been possible to observe how this type of communication has taken on great importance and strength, because in various internet sites such as social networks, a large number of people establishing written conversations through chats.

Verbal communication is usually used consciously, so that people, or people, know the exact actions that must be carried out in order to establish it. Thanks to the great technological advances, people have managed to communicate at levels never before thought, being able to establish relationships of all kinds over long distances, without being an affecting factor due to the ease of being able to make a conversation.

Non-verbal communication

Non-verbal communication can be a bit more complex, although in reality it is somewhat easier for human beings to understand, since unlike the form of communication that was described above, in this it is not necessary to use the conscious, but rather of the unconscious, because this is usually used through symbolizations or signals such as images, smells or simply by touch.

Non-verbal communication has different sub-classifications, among which are the following:

  • Iconic language: in this you can find different types of signs and gestures, as well as deaf-mute languages, universal codes such as Braille, and Morse, as well as worldwide known acts or symbols such as kisses, or mourning signs.
  • Body language: Most of the gestures that human beings make are recognized as a type of language, because the body usually expresses some feelings in a practically automatic way.

Verbal communication can be accompanied on many occasions by non-verbal communication, because, as mentioned above, it is used unconsciously, so that in most of the times it is used it can even get mixed up.

Gestures can be interpreted in many different ways, and this is because they do not have established regulations, so they turn out to be a bit more complex to understand what the exact message that the sender is wanting to convey is.

Communication is the basis of the structure of society, and however this process is carried out, it will be just as important for a community of people to survive.
