A conference in which we are invited to meditate by taking a step back

Practicing meditation has a number of scientifically proven benefits, this is undoubted ... at the end of the article I leave you some links as proof of this.

People who meditate have a higher amount of gray matter in certain areas of the brain such as the hippocampus, which is responsible for regulating emotions.

The gray matter that we have in the brain does not transmit nerve impulses, so it is associated with greater reasoning ability. It is proven that people who meditate daily for years have more gray matter and their hippocampus is larger than that of people who do not meditate.

For all this, in this blog I usually publish quite a few things related to meditation. It seems to me a fundamental aspect if we want to have a much more peaceful life.

Today I bring you a 9 minute lecture in which Andy Puddicombe, an expert in meditation mindfulness, invites us to practice this type of meditation based on concentration in the here and now.

It invites us to step back and become observers of how our mind is a hubbub of thoughts that come and go. If we learn to be aware of the present moment, we will learn to calm our mind.

I leave you with the video and below it I propose you a proposal:

I suggest that you spend 10 minutes a day meditating starting tomorrow. 10 minutes in which you will focus solely and exclusively on your breathing. I'm going to do it, I'm going to incorporate it into my daily routine. You will see when is the appropriate time to do it.

I invite you to accept this challenge and tell me about your progress.
