We have prepared a small compilation for you about 8 myths of creativity that you probably did not know yet. Some of them will leave you completely surprised:

1) I need a lot of time to be creative

It is true that any successful project in this life requires continuous, methodical and constant work… however, to be creative you don't need to have a lot of time, but rather to know how to optimize it.

Most creative people don't have a lot of time, but they take what little they do have and make the most of it to achieve totally incredible results.

2) I need to create certain conditions for inspiration to come to me

Yes and no. It is true that some artists only relax in a certain way. You have to know that creativity can appear at any time, even if the conditions are not as you may have imagined.

It is good to know what motivates you, but it is also good to be clear that there is more than one way to reach the goal.

3) If nobody believes in me, the best thing I can do is quit.

Get that idea out of your head immediately. If no one believes in you the best thing you can do is go ahead to show them how wrong they are.

4) I don't look like any known artist

Many times we think that artists have certain similarities between them but, the truth is that each professional is different: they have different techniques and different ways of being able to carry them out.

Develop your own style and forget what other people think or do.

5) I always have to strive for perfection

You should always strive to keep improving ... but perfection can be upsetting. What you have to achieve is to be proud of your work and make others be proud as well.

An unhealthy obsession with perfection is not going to help you.

6) Everything interesting has already been created

That is not so: surely you have something new in your mind that can impress today's society ... you just have to find it. It is true that there is a lot of competition but surely you can find a way to be able to leave them behind and end up succeeding.

7) The materials to make certain artistic works are too expensive

This is probably true considering it as a whole ... but, if you start small, you will see that it is not as expensive as it seems. The best thing is that you go acquiring material according to your needs and thus you will be able to save the most without sacrificing in your studies.

8) Responsibilities do not let me create

Many times responsibilities do not let us do what we want ... so we have to find the best way to optimize time. We don't need too much, but we do need to make the most of it to get the best possible results.

Personally, I think that creativity is the CONSEQUENCE of reading every day about the topics that interest you (about your passion), the question is: do you read about your passion every day? A hug, Pablo.
