Yesterday died Nelson Mandela and as a tribute I have decided to put the poem by William Ernest Henley entitled "Invictus". This poem provided Nelson Mandela with mental sustenance during the 27 years he was imprisoned:
In the night that surrounds me,
black, like an unfathomable well,
I thank God whoever it is
for my unconquerable soul.
In the grip of circumstance
I have not moaned, nor cried.
Before the stabs of chance,
Although I have bled, I have never prostrated myself.
Beyond this place of anger and crying
stalks the darkness with its horror.
Yet the threat of the years finds me,
and he will find me without fear.
No matter how straight the road has been,
nor how many punishments I carry on my back:
I am the master of my destiny, I am the captain of my soul.

I leave you with an excerpt from the movie they made about Nelson Mandela and in which this motivating poetry is recited:
Nelson mandela was a good man and president as he does not open any more in life may God welcome him into his arms and may he be happy resting in peace
Yesterday I saw this film and the poem motivated me a lot. The film is inspiring and shows the feeling and the human of its characters !!
I would like to know if the spelling error "finds" instead of "haya" in the poem is an error made by the translator or the digitizer on the page. In any case, it is a great poem, and I did not expect less, if it managed to be a source of inspiration for a being as great as Nelson Mandela was, a thinker against all current.
Friend Fabian, finds, it is not a spelling error, it is part of the verb to find (to find, to find something that is sought etc). And not "there is" that is part of the verb to have, specifically from its past, therefore the error does not exist in this text, if you write poyo instead of the correct one, chicken, it is that you are one of those who suffers from something called yeismo , which is to confuse the, LL, with the Y. Nothing serious by the way
Poyo also exists, it is the kitchen bench… on which the ingredients are prepared
