What is emotional pain?
Emotional pain can be more intense than physical pain. Physical pain can be relieved with medication, while emotional pain is much more difficult to treat.
It arises as a consequence of a traumatic event, for example the loss of a loved one. It generates anxiety and depression. It makes us lose control of our mind. This is why we must be very careful not to enter a loop of negative automatic thoughts.
What Causes Emotional Pain?
The causes of emotional pain are multiple. In childhood, the feeling of abandonment, loneliness or social rejection can trigger it.
In adults, a separation, the loss of a job or the death of a loved one.
In any case, what is a serious, catastrophic event for you may not be so serious for someone else. It is already known that each one of us is different.
