5 great phrases about education

I just saw via Twitter this image titled «The 10 best phrases about education»:

phrases about education

It is clear that content creators really like to publish articles like "The 10 best blablabla". It is clear that this is something subjective because although the sentences above are very good I have found other 5 that in my opinion they have nothing to envy at 10 above:

1) The first date is from Diego Luis Cordoba (1907-1964), a Colombian politician residing in the area with the largest black population in all of Colombia and who managed to found an independent Department called Chocó:

"Through ignorance one descends into servitude, through education one ascends to freedom."

2) The next two sentences correspond to Confused, the famous Chinese thinker:

«They told me about it and I forgot it; I saw and understood; I did it and I learned it. "

3) Confusion:

"Learning without thinking is wasting energy.

4) I could not miss this great phrase from Buddha:

To teach others, first you have to do something very hard: you have to straighten yourself out.

5) Finally, I found this poetic phrase from Horace mann, botanical:

"The teacher who tries to teach without inspiring in the student the desire to learn is trying to forge a cold iron."

To put the icing on these inspiring phrases I am going to leave you with a video that collects other great quotes from the best educators and that I hope they serve as motivation to those who are in charge of educating our children:
