8 phrases women should stop saying to each other

Equality for women has come by leaps and bounds in the last 100 years. However, there are still restrictions imposed on women both by society and, surprisingly, by other women. Some phrases that are ingrained in our society like compliments and questions are really negative.

Take a look at these 8 phrases women should stop saying to each other.

1) "Forget about her ... anyway, you're prettier."

women phrases

Most women say this with the best of intentions. Maybe your friend's partner has been unfaithful to her. They want to cheer up their friend and put a smile on her face, but they are placing too much value on beauty. This implies that women are in competition with each other, and that beauty is a successful brand for women. It just isn't true.

2) «Have you lost weight? You look great!"

Unless the other woman is trying to lose weight, compliments should not be linked to body weight. This can lead women to think that their self-esteem depends on their weight.

3) "You are so skinny, eat a hamburger!"

This is meant as advice, but many women have difficulty gaining weight, and being told that they should gain weight in these terms can be very damaging and annoying.

4) "Boys prefer this body type."

Once again we place an excessive value on beauty and body image, relegating other qualities such as intelligence, a sense of humor or simply being a good person.

Setting standards of female beauty can be very damaging. The only priority is to be healthy and happy in your own body.

I'm going to leave you a video that suits him like a glove at this point. Its titled "Stereotypes of beauty undermine your self-esteem":

5) "When are you getting married?"

Is it really necessary to put pressure on a subject as sensitive as this? What if you get married due to social pressure without being fully convinced?

Marriage is optional and many women are not personally interested in getting married. This can make the woman feel compelled to justify her decision.

6) "When are you going to have a baby?"

This is one of the worst questions to ask a woman. She does not have to make public why she is not a mother. It may be simply because you do not want, cannot or are not convinced of your relationship.

Deciding to be a mother is a very important decision and some women simply choose not to have children. This is a personal option that requires no justification.

7) "Women are crazy."

Most generalizations are inaccurate and this is no exception. These kinds of statements create the wrong image of women. It is a negative and inaccurate point of view.

8) "Why are you alone?"

This question reminds me of number 6. Does a woman really have to justify why she has decided not to have a partner?

Nobody's self-esteem is tied to having a partner or not. There are many great reasons not to be in a relationship. It is not mandatory in this life to have a partner.

Which of these questions or phrases do you hate the most? Can you think of any other wrong phrases? Leave your comment.
