Self esteem and Bach flowers

When we talk about Self esteem, we almost always refer to the assessment we make of ourselves. We are very aware of its definition, its meaning, and it is a word that is very fashionable but sometimes when talking about Self-esteem, a positive or negative assessment is made, as if it were something that could not be changed.

Yes, Self-esteem is our self-worth, the result of everything we think and feel about ourselves. It is the result of our thoughts, conscious and unconscious, of our belief system and the way we relate to our own being. But it is much more than that.

The self-esteem, as I referred to at the beginning, it is not limited to a static and sentenced view of how we value ourselves. Self-esteem also has to do with our attitude towards ourselves, the way we continue to treat and take care of ourselves. Obviously, both things are related, because the more you value yourself, the better the way you treat yourself. But is that really so? No, it is not because it is not static. So there may be some areas of our life in which we make a very positive assessment and in others we make a rather negative assessment, and even so, they can vary in degree over time. The level of our Self-esteem is not the same in different areas due to the beliefs that make up its base. A person who is very lucky in relationships can have serious difficulties at the professional level. In the same way, you can be very successful professionally and have a very weakened health. The factors involved in it: our beliefs, projections, feelings of guilt, etc.

High or low self-esteem?

Our self-esteem is not always on the same level. The time factor, circumstances and life experiences intervene in this. When we understand that, it may be an important step in our self-acceptance. There are many factors that determine our Self-esteem, the assessment we make of ourselves, but this assessment is often conditioned by experiences, by the environment, by beliefs and thoughts that also change over time. Self-esteem is something more dynamic and should be approached from that premise.

On the other hand, Self-esteem is not only a psychological issue. Self-esteem can also be given a holistic approach, since our emotional, mental, spiritual and physical condition interfere with it. We cannot separate these conditions. They are interconnected and interdependent. In the past, talking about self-esteem possibly implied a visit to the psychologist, who supposedly would be the only one who would have the tools or the answers to solve the problems that derive from low self-esteem. Today we know that this is no longer the case. There are several methods, disciplines and therapies to treat issues related to Self-esteem, one of them being the treatment with Bach Flowers.

There are already many authors who defend that Self-esteem is a vibrational issue. Esther & Jerry Hicks are the authors of many books related to the Law of Attraction and they make a lot of reference to the fact that the way we feel is translated, according to them, into a certain vibrational frequency. According to these authors, each emotion corresponds to a different point on a vibratory scale. Thinking in this way and establishing a scale where emotions can be classified as high or low vibrational frequency is undoubtedly a very new and innovative way to approach the issue of Self-esteem, especially since it is not something that can be “measured”. Even for many this may seem far-fetched, however, and from my point of view, it does not seem wrong. If so, we could say that Bach Flowers is the most effective and appropriate therapy to treat Self-esteem. What makes me establish a link between the statements of these authors and Flower Therapy is precisely when the vibrational word enters the middle. Although no one better than a quantum physicist to detail this concept, the truth is that Bach Flowers are a vibrational therapy, and many of the essences are used precisely to treat issues related to Self-esteem. Perhaps more than 20 essences can be used to treat many variants of fear, and what is fear but the opposite of Love? Love is the opposite of fear, and is equal to Trust. Trust and Love towards oneself is precisely what we call our Self-esteem. If flower essences balance our emotions, transforming fear and its variants into Trust and Love, then can we consider Self-esteem as a vibrational issue?

Self-knowledge and awareness

To change or raise our self-esteem it is necessary first of all to acquire a deep knowledge of ourselves. Without that self-knowledge there is no place to change, because we can only change what we know, what we have become aware of. The reason why most people do not improve the way they treat themselves is precisely because they have not yet become aware of it. They do not yet have sufficient perspective to define the mental and emotional patterns of which they are attached, they are not aware of their projections, their fears, their feelings of guilt and other variants of fear that do nothing more than self-sabotage their behavior. and thereby perpetuate the deep suffering that many of the people suffer. Nor is it an easy task to begin a process of internal exploration, since some of these patterns have their origins in our early childhood, where, in reality, most beliefs have their cradle there. Many of those guidelines were adopted as ours so long ago that we no longer realize them. On the other hand, this process of internal inquiry leads to the fact that while we are removing the "trunks" of our unconscious, we find ourselves with emotions that we do not have the slightest idea of how to handle. We do not know simply because we do not know them, we are not familiar with them. We do not know how to identify or define them, and even less understand why they are there. That is the lack of Consciousness of the Self. It is lack of Self-knowledge. To begin to "fix" the situation, you would have to spend some time alone with yourself. Introspection and time with oneself is basic, essential and vital for us to begin a process of Self-knowledge and to know what is happening inside us. Once we get to know each other more, we do not have to like all of our characteristics, but only to recognize and accept them as our own. Furthermore, our personality characteristics cannot be considered negative from a static point of view. They are positive or negative depending on the degree, the context and the moment in which we find ourselves. They have to be seen from a more dynamic perspective. The Bach Flowers precisely help us to become aware of our being, and acquire the necessary perspective to be able to identify where our mental and emotional patterns come from, thus contributing to change them. But not only in that help us the essences of Dr. Bach.

The genesis of the problem

There are several mental and emotional patterns that determine low self-esteem. Most of them are born and developed at our earliest age: infancy. When we are children, our parents and other reference adults, they were educating and conditioning us based on their belief systems and their thoughts, leaving us quite clear the differences between what was good and evil, what was right and what was wrong, and what they did. both through their verbal and non-verbal language through their looks, gestures, expressions, etc. As children we do not know how to distinguish between objective reality and subjective reality so that everything we have learned is adopted as something "ours". Our way of seeing the world is conditioned and defined by its forms. Sometimes the way we behaved, what we really appreciated, or what we wanted, did not receive approval. So our reaction was something like: “I can't say this”, “I can't think like that”, “I can't be like that”, “I shouldn't do this or think about the other”. These events occur from the time we were born to approximately 7 years of age, they mark and define us and it is when some of the most well-known typological states in floral terms begin to be born.

Bach flower essences

Bach Flowers act at the vibrational level, helping to harmonize the vibrational frequencies of the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical fields. They are holistic in nature since the human being is considered as a whole and not constituted by separate parts, and they work not to eliminate the symptom, but rather they teach how to listen to it to understand its meaning and the deepest message.

There are several flower essences that have very good results in the treatment to heal our self-esteem: Gentian is an essence that helps us to have more positive thoughts, to be more optimistic. White Chestnut prevents us from going around and around problems and worries without finding a solution, Impatiens for anxiety, impatience and stress or Stimuli for the fears of which we are aware. These are just some of the essences that, integrated into an adequate therapeutic framework, help us a lot, because they give us understanding, clarity, they give us more awareness. Other essences such as Agrimony that from my point of view is one of the main essences to consider for issues related to Self-esteem. Self-knowledge and Self-acceptance are the basis for a good Self-esteem as well as recognizing and expressing our emotions and this essence precisely facilitates emotional expression. Centaury is the essence that corresponds to a state of personality where Self-esteem reaches points below zero. The degree of submission to others is very high, and the inability to say no and impose limits is practically non-existent. The fact of denying himself his space, his existence in the world, almost completely annulling himself shows the low self-esteem that a person in this state can suffer. The Centaury personality does not have the ability to attend to its own needs. Is there a worse way to treat yourself? Larch is an essence whose negative state is related to negative mental programming. Negative affirmations of the type "you can't", "you are useless", "you are not capable" or "you are not good enough" sometimes engraved with iron and fire in the unconscious of the person, convincing him of their uselessness they are surmountable with the taking of this essence. To deal with feelings of guilt which are difficult to eradicate, there is the essence of Pine, for people who continue to punish themselves continuously, albeit in an unconscious way. All guilt seeks punishment and punishment creates pain.

There are other essences that are very important to promote self-love and increase our self-esteem. They are: Heather, Crab Apple, Cerato, Chicory, Scleranthus, Rock Water, Beech, Clematis. All the emotions that are related to low self-esteem can be rebalanced through flower essences. Patterns such as criticism and self-criticism, fear, guilt, anger, resentment, jealousy and envy, lack of self-confidence, repeated negative thoughts, worry, mental rigidity and stress, intolerance and impatience are just a few examples. Here is the invitation to a more in-depth knowledge of the aforementioned flower essences and their relationship with Self-esteem.

Learning and change

Flower essences contribute a lot to people starting to take care of themselves more by offering them the most essential: acceptance, care and appreciation. Through the taking of the Bach Flowers, we can begin to see ourselves as we really are. They help us to overcome our traumas, to question our beliefs, to relativize and eradicate our fears that prevent us from accessing our essence, from seeing our true "self", from loving, valuing and respecting ourselves more as human beings deserving of a life full of joy, happiness and health.
Self-esteem is also the ability to develop skills, to learn and to seek the tools that allow a more loving relationship with ourselves, which possibly was not given in childhood. We are not exactly what we think we are. We are more than that. You just have to find out.

Without a doubt, Bach flowers are an incredible remedy, although I have not consumed them for years, I remember that they pulled me out of a great depression that I had in my adolescence. He had serious self-esteem problems, and had lost several loved ones that same year. For this reason I believe that this article can help and change the lives of many readers. Greetings.
