The Art of Silencing the Mind (by Alan Watts)

It is not good to think so much about the head. Ruminant thoughts are a source of stress, anxiety and depression. Reality ends up being negatively distorted as a result of turning the same thing over and over again.

As says Alan Watts in this video:

"Thoughts are excellent servants but lousy masters."

It's good calm your mind so you can enjoy the present moment. Meditation is a great way to relax your mind and reconnect with reality in a more lucid way. There is even a type of meditation called Mindfulness (I have already written at length about it in this blog) which consists of focusing on the present by controlling the breath, for example.
