Common sense, the meaning of life

Concept of common sense, the meaning of life.

It is proven that we have many other ways of perceiving to reduce perception to the sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch and taste. There is a sixth sense that unites all our sensations and allows us to feel beyond.

We have the experience of that "sixth" sense that allows us to perceive our entire organism as a unit. From there we integrate feelings of hunger, desire or boredom; feelings such as love or friendship and moral values such as goodness or beauty. And it's finally this global feel of our own constitution the one that allows us to say if we feel good or bad, happy or unhappy.

This sense of life, of course, is closely related to the other senses, although it also seems to have a separate entity. In its Notebook , Leonardo Da Vinci speaks of common sense as the "common judge" of the other five senses; the place where sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch and mind come together to create a new way of perceiving that contains them all and at the same time is one separately.

Our body does not always need our conscience to function properly. Precisely the insistence on putting awareness where it is not needed is what many times more hinders when it comes to feeling. We cannot perceive everything or be aware of everything that we perceive; but we can decide to focus our attention on what is important to us and somehow guide the course of our life. This allows what we attend and build in life to have meaning and responsibility and not be a dispersion and a continuous waste of energy.

As human beings we have the ability and freedom to orient our senses towards a meaningful life.
