This is one of the last TED conferences with Spanish subtitles. It is taught by David Steindl Rast, a Benedictine Catholic monk who stands out for his active participation in the dialogue between religions and his work on the interaction between spirituality and science.
This monk starts in his conference from a desire common to every human being: to be happy. For him, happiness is directly related to gratitude. We must give thanks for every moment that we are still alive because it is an opportunity to enjoy it:
"Every moment is a new gift, over and over again"
Life is a succession of moments. Some better than others, but they all give us an opportunity to do something with them; even bad times give us the opportunity to improve ourselves (quite a challenge). A difficult moment can give us the opportunity to learn to be more patient, for example.
If we are grateful for every opportunity that each of those moments gives us, we will be happier.
I leave you with this conference that serves very well for reflect on what really matters in this life and I hope it helps you to appreciate a little more each moment that life gives you:
