The path of self-improvement

personal growth

The good thing about working on your personal growth is that when you make an effort to improve some part of your life, there is an excellent chance that you will be successful in the long run. You may have a lot of grime to clean up in terms of limiting beliefs, and you may start from a disadvantageous position, but with enough time, you may improve some part of your life.

For example, you have the potential to go from poverty to wealth, from shy to unbeatable social confidence, or from unhealthy life to completely fit. It may not be easy to make these changes, but it is possible. There are many people who have already been successful.

This, of course, is the great promise of self-improvement: You can consciously remake a part of your life, create a sculpture of what you want to be and become it.

But there are two very common problems that prevent many people from becoming what they want to be.

Are you clear about what you want to be?

First of all, most people are not clear about what they want to become.

Since they do not decide, they do not advance anywhere.

When you ask people what they want out of life, most of the time they get a very vague answer. They cannot specify anything. So of course their lives are not going to change much. They don't make any sense. When someone asks you what you want out of life, offer a clear and specific answer.

Don't expect your life to change until you first make a clear decision about where you want to go. Thank you that you can choose!

Making a choice is very, very simple. Most people greatly complicate the process. Ask a child what he wants for his birthday, and he will probably rattle off a series of specific themes to you. How to decide? Don't worry so much about making the wrong decisions. If you are drawn to a certain experience, then that is an excellent candidate for a new decision.

Real decisions vs fantasy decisions

Second, when people do finally decide, they usually don't make a real choice. They choose a fantasy option.

There is a big difference between a false decision and a true decision. Let me explain this to you.

The decision is false when you are clear about what you want but do not accept the far-reaching consequences of that decision. This is like deciding to pick up one end of a stick while denying or ignoring the existence of the other end of the stick. If you resist the true nature of the club as a whole, you cannot pick up the front of the club. If you resist the consequences of your wishes, you will prevent your wishes from becoming real.

Too often people say they know what they want, but the truth is that they are trapped in fantasy land. For example, they have decided to reach their ideal weight, but they do not accept the possibility of maintaining a more disciplined diet and exercise habits to maintain that weight, etc.

So in summary, we have two key obstacles to achieving our self-improvement: 1) Deciding what you want, and 2) Identifying, accepting and inviting the possible consequences of what you want.

When you overcome these two obstacles, you are actively creating something new. Regardless of your choice, you are having success. Celebrate it!

I leave you a video which shows a clear example of what the personal growth:
