The true spirit of Christmas

For blog readers who are not Spanish I have to explain that every year around this time it begins to be seen on Spanish televisions an advertisement promoting the famous Christmas lottery. It is already a classic at this time. They invite us to buy a lottery ticket to see if Fortune knocks on our door and gets us out of some financial trouble.

The fact is that for many years the protagonist of the ad was "The spirit of christmas" incarnated by a bald man who was distributing luck to certain people who would later be the lucky ones. This was the commercial with which the actor Clive Arrindell ("The Bald of Christmas) premiered:

"The bald man from the lottery" became so famous that he signed an exclusive contract with Loterías y Apuestas del Estado. However, as of 2006 it was decided to dispense with this actor because it gave a gloomy character to the Christmas lottery.

The Christmas lottery ads never had that characteristic hook again that caught viewers.

The good thing about it is that actor Clive Arrindell's revenge has been great Because after this "horrible" announcement he has starred in an advertisement for Action Against Hunger in which he tells us about the true spirit of Christmas. The message conveyed by the ad is very powerful, nothing to do with the materialism of the Christmas lottery. This is the true spirit of Christmas:
