Things I learned in 2.010

Things I learned in 2.010

1) Life flies by and I have to know how to take advantage of (value) the present. It seems like a cliché but life is built on small moments. If I learn to freeze time by focusing on "the now," my life will be more pleasant.

2) Do not be afraid of pain, to sickness, death. This learning is related to the first. The important thing is "now." Many times I think about how I will find myself tomorrow (what will hurt me) or how many years I will die.

I have realized that then "tomorrow" comes and I am still here. Just like it was yesterday. I will try to think more often of the future as a space of opportunities and new more pleasant events.

3) My body and mind endure suffering very well. As some of you already know, a special greeting to Mary C., I have 2 chronic diseases that are responsible for nagging me every day.

During the 23 days of my hospitalization, I had a hard time: pain, uncertainty, boredom and irritability were my usual companions. However, I stoically put up with such "roommates" and struggled every minute to keep going: I continued to be careful with my things, took special care of the daily toilet, made an effort to eat everything they put on me, walked the corridors of the hospital ( if that can be called walking) every day. He was the one who walked the most on the floor and he was in great pain.

4) I have learned to focus more on myself. It sounds selfish but in life and simplifying there are 2 extremes of people: the extremely selfish and those who forget themselves to focus on others. If you'll allow me modesty, I'll tell you that I type into the 2nd type.

It is true that I have my selfish aspects but sometimes I go out of my way too much for the people I love and, sometimes, this hurts me. I have learned to love myself more.

5) I have learned that in life you have to be brave. We are continually faced with difficult decisions that require courage to carry them out. If I manage to face them with courage, things work better and "me" comes out stronger.

The problem is take the bull by the Homs. It is not easy but let me tell you that our decisions are worth being brave about.

This post seems like a good better way to park 2.010. It is good to make an assessment of the past and this is the best time for it.

And you? What did you learn from 2.010?
