Lindsay Cochran was born with spinal muscular atrophy, a disorder that occurs in approximately 8 out of 100.000 newborns. He has used a wheelchair since he was two years old. Although she is different from the other children, she never feels lonely because, among other things, she has her brother Trenton.
Trenton is Lindsay's older brother… and her champion. Helps you around the house and defends your place in the world.
Lindsay recognizes all that Trenton means to her:
"It's easier for me to go through life with an older brother like Trenton."
But Trenton's love for Lindsay goes beyond being the obedient and protective older brother. She is a fundamental part of her personality and her love is so tangible that you will notice it especially from minute 1:48.
Watching the video, two things stand out to my attention: the incredible love that Trenton feels for his sister and how she looks at him serenely when he breaks into tears. I don't know about you, but I get a lump in my throat:
